Bangladesh and West Indies will face each other in the 1st and only Twenty20 match of this tour at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur on 10th December 2012.
The final match of the series will also bring a great relief after having an up and down series for both the West Indies and the hosts Bangladesh. It’s the only T20 of the tour so whoever wins this match will take the series and win the trophy. Chris Gayle will fly off to Australia to play in the Big Bash after this match so he would like to find some form with the bat in this final match and guide his team to victory. West Indies had to suffer defeat in ODI series against Bangladesh with 3-2. Tourists’ skipper Darren Sammy said the T20 was West Indies’ chance to finish this tour on a high. The likely West Indian lineup will include: 1 Chris Gayle, 2 Kieran Powell/Lendl Simmons, 3 Darren Bravo, 4 Marlon Samuels, 5 Kieron Pollard, 6 Darren Sammy (capt), 7 Devon Thomas (wk), 8 Andre Russell, 9 Veerasammy Permaul, 10 Sunil Narine, 11 Kemar Roach.
Tamim Iqbal has had another average series as he contributed in some games. Gaining confidence from the ODI series win, Bangladesh is looking to end the year on a positive note by grabbing a win in the shortest format. And West Indies are the world champions in T20 cricket, so defeating them would be like giving a shock to the world.
