Singapore’s emerging player Yong Zhao Ashton Chen determined to prove his strength on court and advanced into Men’s Singles main round after beating Israel’s Misha Zilberman in qualifying round clash at Victor Korea Open 2013 on Tuesday, January 8, in Korea in just 29 minutes with a crushing 21-6 and 21-14 total on the score board.
Women’s Singles campaigner Mi Jin Jung had begun her Victor Korea Open campaign perfectly as she thrashed Tatjana Bibik to march into second stage of qualifying round at local badminton arena of Seoul in mere 31 minutes with an impressive result of 21-16 and 21-17.
India’s badminton queen Saina Nehwal showed her brilliance in the opening round and secured a pre quarter-final berth after beating Sapsiree Taerattanachai of Thailand and both contenders in a close tussle with 17-21, 21-9 and 21-19.
