India will now plan to take revenge on England after suffering a humiliating defeat in the test series during last December.
India have played cricket since, losing 2-1 to Pakistan in the ODI’s but the batting emerged as a big worry with their top and middle order falling cheaply to arch rivals’ bowling attack. MS Dhoni has been in smashing form with the bat after almost pulling off some incredible comebacks against Pakistan but needs also to unite his team in this field. The Probable Indian lineup will include: 1 Gautam Gambhir, 2 Ajinkya Rahane, 3 Virat Kohli, 4 Yuvraj Singh, 5 Suresh Raina, 6 MS Dhoni (capt & wk), 7 Ravindra Jadeja, 8 R Ashwin, 9 Bhuvneshwar Kumar, 10 Ishant Sharma, 11 Shami Ahmed.
England played 2 tour matches against India A and Delhi and lost both which may result in their lack of confidence while entering this clash. The star performer of the tour matches for England was Ian Bell who hit a century and just missed out on a 2nd. England will again be led by their victorious Test skipper Alastair Cook but their bowling attack, in the absence of several key Test bowlers, appears weak and may just be the right favor to the bruised Indian batting line-up to get back into the form. The likely English squad will include: 1 Alastair Cook (capt), 2 Ian Bell, 3 Kevin Pietersen, 4 Eoin Morgan, 5 Samit Patel, 6 Craig Kieswetter (wk), 7 Tim Bresnan, 8 James Tredwell, 9 Stuart Meaker, 10 Jade Dernbach, 11 Steven Finn.
