Host England will take on Sri Lanka in the eighth game of the ICC Champions Trophy 2013 on Thursday in a day-night game to be played at Kennington Oval, London.
It is a do-or-die match for Sri Lanka who have to win in order to stay in this tournament against the 2nd placed England. Sri Lanka batted miserably against New Zealand and they are in definite need of changing the course against England and would be requiring their openers Perera and Dilshan to get them off to a good start. The likely Sri Lankan squad will include: 1 Tillakaratne Dilshan, 2 Kusal Perera, 3 Mahela Jayawardene, 4 Kumar Sangakkara (wk), 5 Dinesh Chandimal, 6 Angelo Mathews (capt), 7 Thisara Perera, 8 Lahiru Thirimanne, 9 Nuwan Kulasekara, 10 Sachithra Senanayake, 11 Lasith Malinga.
England are only a game away from securing their spot in the semi-finals but if they lose it could open things up for any team to progress to the next round. England performed remarkably against Australia, in particular with the ball as James Anderson ripped through the batsmen and his team will need him to repeat his performance against Sri Lanka. The probable English lineup will include: 1 Alastair Cook (capt), 2 Ian Bell, 3 Jonathan Trott, 4 Joe Root, 5 Eoin Morgan, 6 Jos Buttler (wk), 7 Ravi Bopara, 8 Tim Bresnan, 9 Graeme Swann, 10 Stuart Broad, 11 James Anderson.
