On the opening day of the 2nd test match, Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara gave a good start to India to have an upper hand against South Africa despite bad light preventing 29 mandatory overs from being bowled at Kingsmead, stopping the visitors’ progress at 181 for 1.
Vijay was just nine short of a well-deserved century and Pujara batting on a solid 58 when the light metre read 9.3. Umpires Steve Davis and Rod Tucker then decided to call the day off.
