On opening day of the second test match, Kumar Sangakkara’s 34th century had provided Sri Lanka with a controlled 314 for 5 against Bangladesh at stumps at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
Jayawardene, who was 203 not out in the first-Test victory, was also going to complete his 34th century before getting trapped lbw by Mahmudullah, who spun the ball cruelly.
