England and Scotland will take on each other in the only ODI match at Aberdeen on Friday.

Scotland have already qualified to play in ODI World Cup 2015 in Australia and New Zealand. However, the International Cricket Council recently announced that the leading associate or junior nation would play the bottom-ranked Test side in 2018, with the prize of gaining Test status. Ireland are also a strong contender to gain the potential test status for their team as well. However, the Scottish team’s Kiwi coach Grant Bradburn wants to take advantage of this opportunity and make th most out of it. Scotland’s skipper will be Kyle Coetzer – one of their best batsmen, who scored a half ton in the most recent ODI between the sides, in 2010, though suffering a defeat from England by seven wickets. Richie Berrington will not play due to injury, and have given call ups to Alasdair Evans and Josh Davey to bowlers the bowling. The likely Scottish line-up will include: 1 Kyle Coetzer (capt), 2 Calum MacLeod, 3 Matt Machan, 4 Preston Mommsen, 5 Freddie Coleman, 6 Matty Cross (wk), 7 Josh Davey, 8 Rob Taylor, 9 Safyaan Sharif, 10 Majid Haq, 11 Iain Wardlaw.

On the other hands, England will be playing this ODI game after a depressing performance during T20 World Cup 2014. However, their last outing against the same opponent may give them confidence for the upcoming clash. They desperately want to win this match to make-up for their recent crushing defeat against Netherlands in T20 World Cup. The English squad look strong led by the skipper Alastair Cook. Also James Anderson is recalled to the side for the first time in years. The probable English squad will include: 1 Alastair Cook (capt), 2 Ian Bell, 3 Moeen Ali, 4 Joe Root, 5 Eoin Morgan, 6 Ravi Bopara, 7 Jos Buttler (wk), 8 Chris Jordan, 9 James Tredwell, 10 James Anderson, 11 Harry Gurney.
