The 16-team Para Soccer championship runs 17 June to 1 July. Eight teams will qualify for the London 2012 Paralympics, so two teams from each four-team group. Canada is pitted in a group with Scotland, Ukraine and Finland.
Coach Ferguson has featured 28 players in his national camps these past two years. Over that time, the team has gathered for nine camps and competitions. The team played in nine international matches.
The most recent selection camp took place in Surrey, BC from 17-22 May. It was at this camp that Ferguson picked his final 12-player team from a camp of 16 players.
"All the players worked very hard, which made the final selection of 12 spots a tough decision," said Ferguson.
At the CP-ISRA World Championships, Canada will face Finland on 18 June, Ukraine on 20 June and Scotland on 22 June. All three matches will be played in Drenthe, Netherlands.
