Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced today that the club has acquired Portland Timbers’ natural fourth-round selection in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft in exchange for the right of first refusal to former Whitecaps FC midfielder Michael Nanchoff.

If the 2015 MLS SuperDraft is two rounds, then the pick will become a natural second-round selection in the 2015 MLS Supplemental Draft.

Nanchoff, 24, joined Vancouver after being selected eighth overall in the 2011 MLS SuperDraft from the Univeristy of Akron. In two seasons with Whitecaps FC, the native of North Royalton, Ohio, made 14 MLS regular season and two Amway Canadian Championship appearances.
