Eddies look to keep momentum going

FC Edmonton will look to take the momentum from the October 6th victory as they travel to San Antonio to take on the Scorpions at 12:30pm MT on October 13th

Both sides are coming off much needed victories last week, with the Eddies beating the Carolina RailHawks and the Scorpions edging the Atlanta Silverbacks.

Eddies coach Colin Miller had nothing but good things to say about the squad heading into Sunday.

“I was so proud with how the lads played against a quality RailHawks side who were desperate for three points on Sunday, as were we. The win kept us in with a chance and the attitude in training all week has been phenomenal. Now it’s up to the guys to carry that into Sunday’s game against a Scorpions team that will undoubtedly be at their best in front of a home crowd this weekend.”

The Eddies will be looking for a solid performance again from striker Daryl Fordyce, who put up both of FCE’s goals in a 2-1 victory in Week 10. Those goals couldn’t have come without the support of players like Eddie Edward, captain Albert Watson, and Vancouver Whitecaps loaner Corey Hertzog. All three were instrumental in providing FCE’s offense.

A New York Cosmos win will prevent the Eddies from being able to win the Fall Season title. The Eddies will also be denied a shot at the fall silverware if they lose to the San Antonio Scorpions on Sunday, or if they draw and the Cosmos pick up a point against Carolina.

The other side of the pitch sees a Scorpions team playing for pride through the rest of the year. After being mathematically eliminated from contention for the Soccer Bowl 2013, they’ll look to finish off the season with things to build on for next year.

Fans are welcome to attend The Pint off Whyte for the official viewing party. Kickoff is 12:30pm MT.
