Oxnard Performing Arts Center (Oxnard, CA)

Master violinist Philippe Quint makes his New West Symphony debut playing Eric Wolfgang Korngold’s Violin Concerto, the composer’s first piece for the concert hall after composing for film. In this work, Korngold proves himself with the lively passion and meticulous craftsmanship which earned it a place in the standard classical repertoire. Quint, who began his violin career at the age of nine, won two Grammy awards for his recordings of the Korngold Concerto. His virtuoso performance of the piece shows off its musical calibre. The evening also sees the debut of guest conductor Philip Mann with the orchestra. He will lead a program that also includes Rossini’s Overture to The Barber of Seville and Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony. Learn more…
