PEACE Action Committee Against Military Spending

We would like to invite you to join the Peace Action Committee Against Military Spending. In case you didn’t know, April 17th is the Global Day of Action Against Military Spending. Harper’s government has so many misplaced priorit…ies, such as the approx. $28 million the federal govt is spending to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the war of 1812 or the $35 billion for navy ships. Also, we hope that they will finally ceasefire on spending billions of dollars on F-35 Fighter jets that are designed to attack – not defend. Those billions of dollars could provide real security, by supporting programs for affordable housing and daycare, home care, renewable energy, foreign aid and much more. Cutting military spending is one way to respond to the economic crisis AND tackle the roots of the military system that endangers so many lives by reckless interventions. Join the Peace Action Committee Against Military Spending to organize a flash mob event on April 17th. We invite you to attend the first planning meeting on March 21st at 7pm-9pm.
