The Last Day: Moving Play About the Evacuation of Saigon
LOFT Ensemble (Los Angeles, CA)

LOFT Ensemble Founder Christina Howard has created a play about her father Bruce Howard who served in Vietnam in 1965 and returned to Saigon in 1975 to secretly help evacuate the remaining U.S. employees at Navy Headquarters before the country fell to the North Vietnamese Army. The Last Day, directed by Tiger Reel, chronicles a daughter trying to connect to her emotionally distant father as she journeys with him through the events that led to his destiny. Christina Howard’s play uses actual tapes that her father recorded while on the rooftop of the Brinks Hotel watching the communist invasion.
