Local musician Parvati launches a new album entitled YIN: Yoga in the Nightclub at the Yoga Sanctuary, 2 College Street, Suite 306, Toronto, on Friday, May 11, at 8:00PM. The launch will be an all ages event. Parvati writes, produces and performs pop songs, powerhouse dance anthems, and lush, sophisticated and textural electronic soundscapes. She broke into the electronic scene spearheading the Post New Age genre with the boundary-breaking independent success hit single Yoga in the Nightclub. The track now leads off a new album of songs that combine traditional Sanskrit chants and original songwriting, all for the Divine Mother. The album features catchy songs, fierce dance grooves and soundscapes that let you melt into the lap of the Divine. Parvati says, The title Yoga in the Nightclub is about the coming together of two apparent opposites. It reminds us that we can find awakened presence everywhere. Parvati is also a yoga teacher, and created Yoga in the Nightclub as a salutation to the yoga community. With a small ecological footprint, the show is geared to the intimate space of a yoga studio. Following the May 11, 2012 Toronto CD release, Parvati starts an extensive 10 week tour of the United States promoting the release of YIN: Yoga in the Nightclub. During this US tour, Parvati is also teaching her style of yoga called YEM: Yoga as Energy Medicine at yoga studios. At music venues, she will be performing her larger-scale show Natamba, that has been likened to Madonna meets Cirque du Soleil. She continues to tour internationally through 2012 and 2013. Tickets to the launch of YIN: Yoga In The Nightclub on May 11 are $15 adults, $12 seniors and $8 children over 6. (Children 6 and under are free.) A percentage of proceeds support Embracing The World, www.embracingtheworld.com For more about Parvati, please see yogainthenightclub.com or parvatidevi.com.
