IRENE TORRES & THE SUGAR DEVILS LAUNCH DEBUT EP Torontos fusion jazz sextet Irene Torres & The Sugar Devils are comprised of acclaimed and award winning artists from all over the world, bringing a wide variety of experience and multi-cultural musical influences to create an intriguing and eclectic sound. Their self-titled debut EP is set for release on June 21 at Cherry Colas Rock & Roll Cabaret Lounge in Toronto. With their unmistakable jazz, blues and soul sound, Irene Torres & The Sugar Devils features the vocal styling of sultry Peruvian born singer Irene Torres, who sings in three languages. Her voice can also be recognized on commercial jingles for many large corporations. Her talents stretch beyond lyrics and singing, when it’s time to perform she is one seductive lady to see and hear. The Sugar Devils are comprised of experienced musicians from all genres, including Trinidadian born Brownman Ali – an award-winning jazz artist heralded by the New York Village Voice as “Canada’s preeminent jazz trumpet player. Rob Neal Christian is a multi instrumentalist with perfect pitch who is nothing short of brilliant on flute, sax, keys, and vocals. Drew Austin is an internationally touring and recording drummer and percussionist who has worked with artists in all genres. Guitarist Josh Piche and Bassist Jesse Dietschi are both Brandon University Music Alumni.
