Not too long before NBC’s hit show Smash had its debut, playwright, TV writer, novelist and Smash creator Theresa Rebeck penned Our House. In its West Coast premiere at the Lounge Theatre, this comedy centers on — appropriately enough — the current state of television, and our relationship to it. A savage satire, Our House traces the trajectories of a popular news anchor picked to host a reality TV show, and a house full of bickering roommates as their stories collide on stage in an explosion of media-obsessed culture.
