The Raiford Rogers Modern Ballet company dances the debut of Preludes in a Landscape, an exciting new original work choreographed to the piano pieces of J.S. Bach and John Cage — sure to be a highlight of this acclaimed troupe’s annual visit to Luckman. The performance is also set to include one of their signature dances, Four Pieces for Piano, set to the music of Takács, Bach, Haydn and Liszt. The L.A.-based Rogers has “invented a distinctly original style of modern ballet,” according to BackStage NY, and the Los Angeles Times also praises his work, calling it “bracingly contemporary.”
