This hit Broadway mystery play from 1920 has truly stood the test of time. Directed by Drama Critics Circle Award winner Martin Speer, The Bat is a classic whodunit which features an aging maiden who rents out her rickety old home, a large sum of stolen money, a house full of suspects and a mysterious vigilante known only as “The Bat.” Comic book buffs may recognize the subsequent film adaptation of The Bat as one of comics legend Bob Kane’s main sources of inspiration for his Batman character. This production from the award-winning Theatre Forty at the Reuben Cordova Theatre (on the campus of Beverly Hills High School) stars veteran film and television actress Veronica Cartwright (Alien, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, The Twilight Zone).
