Aspen Santa Fe Ballet Brings Bold Contemporary Dance to Long Beach

World-renowned contemporary dance company Aspen Santa Fe Ballet comes to Long Beach’s Carpenter Performing Arts Center to present a sophisticated and exhilarating evening of dance as part of its fall tour. The show includes a specially commissioned work by award-winning Finnish choreographer Jorma Elo, who’s known for his unpredictable and surprising pairings. With Over Glow, he sets contemporary movement to music from Mendelssohn and Beethoven. The New York Times describes Aspen Santa Fe Ballet as “a breath of fresh air,” and the company’s outstanding dancers have been featured at The Joyce Theater, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, The Kennedy Center, Wolf Trap and internationally in Brazil, Canada, France, Italy, Greece and Guatemala.
