Star-Studded Staged Reading of Steel Magnolias Celebrates 25 Years

Four Things Productions presents a 25th anniversary staged reading of Robert Harling’s Steel Magnolias at The Broad Stage. The bittersweet Southern comedy takes place in Truvy Jones’ beauty salon, where three generations of outspoken Southern women regularly gather to laugh, cry and celebrate life together. But their world is rocked by a sudden and devastating tragedy that puts the ladies’ inner strength and love for one another to the ultimate test. Directed by two-time Tony Award-winner Judith Ivey, this reading features a star-studded cast that includes Alexis Bledel (Gilmore Girls), Francis Conroy (Six Feet Under), Jennifer Coolidge (American Pie), Jill Larson (All My Children), Elizabeth Perkins (Weeds), Annie Potts (Designing Women) and Mae Whitman (Parenthood). Ticketholders are also invited to a pre-performance reception with included wine, beer, hors d’ouevres and dessert.
