Bilingual Foundation of the Arts (Los Angeles, CA)

Set in the famed Mexico City nightclub of the ’30s and ’40s known as Salón Mexico, this Spanish-language show spins a musical tale around the popular danzon dance craze, along with a mysterious crime. Both the famous and the infamous gather regularly at the hotspot where partners Mercedes and Paco find themselves the favorites to win the passionate exotic dance concert, and in line to win cash and a trip to Havana. That’s before the pair finds themselves mixed up in danger. The Bilingual Foundation of the Arts’ production was written by Margarita Galban and Lina Montalvo and directed by Galban.
