Oxnard Performing Arts Center (Oxnard, CA)

New West Symphony welcomes their new music director to the podium with Marcelobration!. Marcelo Lehninger has previously led the Boston, Houston, National, New West, Hartford, Fairfax and Jacksonville Symphony Orchestras. For this opening concert of Maestro Lehninger’s inaugural Masterpiece Series season with New West, the orchestra is joined by internationally acclaimed violinist Anne Akiko Meyers performing Samuel Barber’s beloved Violin Concerto. The program also includes the majestic Prelude to Die Meistersinger by Richard Wagner and Antonin Dvořáck’s brilliant and joyous Eighth Symphony.
