Jazz Bass Pioneer Ron Carter Quartet, With Robert Glasper Trio
Royce Hall at UCLA (Los Angeles, CA)
One of the greatest living bassists in jazz, Ron Carter has appeared on more than 2,000 albums — from artists as diverse as Sam Rivers, Freddie Hubbard, McCoy Tyner and hip-hoppers A Tribe Called Quest. Carter even spent 1963-68 as a member of the Miles Davis Quintet. A two-time Grammy Award winner as a bandleader, he’s also a prolific composer of film music and a respected jazz scholar. For this appearance, Carter will perform with his quartet. The Robert Glasper Trio, featuring the trailblazing pianist, opens the show.
