Halloween may be over, but you can still celebrate the spirit of horror movies and haunted houses at the 6th annual Shockfest Film Festival. Held at Hollywood’s Raleigh Studios, the oldest independent studio in continuous operation, Shockfest is a weekend packed with screenings of new and independent horror movies. Actress Erin Marie Hogan from Paranormal Entity will be your host along with celebrity guests Ed Gale (Child’s Play), Brinkie Stevens (The Slumber Party Massacre) and Eileen Dietz (The Exorcist). On Friday’s opening night, walk the Horror Hollywood-themed red carpet with the Shockfest filmmakers, then stay for the LA premiere of The Black Dahlia Haunting, the world premiere of Manhattan’s Monster and a screening of Sandland: Summer’s Kiss. Get scared on Saturday night with a haunted attraction and costumed monsters and butchers roaming the festival grounds. In between watching movies, visit booths for autographs and merchandise from authors, actors and filmmakers. The festival closes out on Sunday with an awards ceremony and the LA premiere of Dark Vessel, the world premiere of Hunter and a screening of Bloodbath.
