Beyond the Stage brings Carmen to life as an exciting, immersive concert experience. Before the event even begins, live music, art and street scenes will transport you to 1820s Spain, where Bizet’s opera is set. You’ll also find fine food-truck cuisine and wine for purchase before the show. Then take in the innovative performance, which is traditionally sung, but backed by modern dancers, graffiti art and more. Filled with passion, jealousy, drama and death, the opera itself revolves around a fiery Spanish gypsy girl who seduces a young corporal named Don José. But when Carmen ultimately rejects him for the bullfighter Escamillo, Don José is driven to revenge. Stick around after the show to meet the artists and enjoy the continuing festivities.
