Studio C Artists (Los Angeles, CA)
In the one act play Snowangel, John (Evan McNamara) attempts to use a prostitute, Connie (Ida Darvish), to relive moments from his past love life. Playwright Lewis J. Carlino (the screenwriter behind such classics as I Never Promised You a Rose Garden, The Mechanic and The Great Santini) explores themes similar to those used by Alfred Hitchcock in Vertigo: John makes Connie wear certain makeup, dress in certain clothes, all in attempt to recreate a loss love. But as he tries to force this re-creation, Connie fiercely challenges John’s illusions. She has her own memories, ones as sad and touching as her client’s. Watch the Studio C Artists stage this unique, humane story of two people learning that before they can love, they must give.
