Lex Theatre (Hollywood, CA)
Pulitzer Prize-winner Lanford Wilson’s play starts with an intriguing premise: an accident at a nuclear plant leaves six characters stranded on a desolate Indian reservation. With all the roads closed until the “mishap” is resolved, the characters huddle up in a mission church and face hard questions about the situation … and themselves. The waylaid travelers include a professor and his wife on their way to a sanitarium and a worldly widow and her tennis playing boy-toy. Their impromptu hosts are an elderly Catholic priest and a gifted young Native American desperate to leave the reservation. Wilson’s masterful exploration of the differences between truth and fiction comes wonderfully alive in The Production Company’s Angels Fall.
