Key Club (Los Angeles, CA)
Bootsy Collins, widely considered the greatest bassist in funk history, hits the stage at The Key Club on Sunset. Collins played on some of James Brown’s greatest recordings before going on to his most famous gig with George Clinton’s Parliament-Funkadelic. Known for his outlandish costumes, including psychedelic top hats and his iconic star-shaped “space bass,” Collins gives a wild live performance that must be experienced to be believed. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997, Collins’ slap bass style has influenced generations of musicians and he is still going strong today, touring around the globe and releasing new albums.
