Walt Disney Concert Hall (Los Angeles, CA)
Dazzling young French pianist Lise de la Salle joins the L.A. Philharmonic for a passionate performance of works by Sergei Rachmaninoff. Just in her early 20s, de la Salle has already earned widespread critical acclaim, including rave reviews for a recent Hollywood Bowl appearance featuring Rachmaninoff’s glorious Rhapsody. Already at the keyboard by age 4, this true musical prodigy broadcast her first concert at 9 and had released an award-winning recording of Bach and Liszt by age 16. Since then, she’s appeared on all the world’s famed stages and with most of its major orchestras. Gianandrea Noseda, music director of the famed Italian opera company Teatro Regio in Turin, will be at the baton for this series of concerts at the gorgeous Walt Disney Hall, which are also set to include the Russian composer’s seldom-heard Third Symphony.
