Award-winning Russian violinist Vadim Repin teams with pianist Andrei Korobeinikov for an evening of violin and piano sonatas by Janácek, Grieg, Ravel and Brahms. A sought-after soloist and acclaimed recording artist, Repin picked up the violin at age 5 and pretty much hasn’t put it down since. By the age of 17, he’d become the youngest-ever winner of several of the world’s most prestigious competitions, including the Reine Elisabeth Concours. Since then, he’s performed with most of the world’s major orchestras and released more than 15 albums, with his latest a disc of sonatas which includes the Janácek and Grieg compositions set for this program.
