Restaurants like O’Brien’s Irish Pub offer an all day happy hour starting at noon, every day of the week. They also offer live music, comedy and more. “The Venice Street Legends” are scheduled to play on Sunday February 17th, from 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. A classic country band led by Greg Cruz that often features guest singers offers tributes to legends such as Johnny Cash, Hank Williams and more. Upper West is known for its exclusive Food/Spirit Pairing events. The restaurant consistently offers versatile events such as holiday specials, pairing evenings and more. Over nineteen sold out Food/Spirit Pairing events have taken place in the past two years. 

On Wednesday, February 20th, Upper West presents a first time pairing featuring Rémy Martin. An anticipated event, repeat customers will attend to learn more about the selected spirit, many times bringing new visitors eager to taste the exquisite pairings.

This event is by reservation only, and is limited to just 42 guests, to create an intimate setting to enhance the customer appreciation of such a fine cognac.  Chef Nick Shipp has created a special menu for this pairing event along with the help of an ambassador from Rémy Martin, who will also be in attendance to speak.

The evening will include a special selection of dishes, such as braised beef cheek accompanied with 1738 Accord Royal as well as a nicoise with a moroccan spiced tuna loin, piquillo-dried tomato concasse and green bean puree accompanied by REMY V.S.O.P.  Finally Sonny McLeans on Wilshire has its own happy hour everyday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Offering $1.00 off Beer and wine, selected appetizers like classic chicken wings and mozzarella sticks are can be purchased for $3.00 off the regular price.

Here live music is often heard on Friday nights….see Kat and the Blues Hounds, on Friday March 1st from 9:00 p.m. until midnight.  Fronted by singer Kathy Leonardo, this classic blues crew offers rockin’ blues plus west coast swing and blues originals.
