Dance Pioneer Jeni Le Gon Honored With Tribute Event

One of the first African-American women to establish a solo career in tap, Jeni Le Gon broke boundaries at nearly every turn during her professional work as a dancer, instructor and actress. The Central Avenue Dance Ensemble and Trepany House pay tribute to this trailblazing woman, who passed away in December 2012, with a special memorial event to celebrate her illustrious career. Featuring film, music, dance and speakers all dedicated to Le Gon, the night will be filled with reflection and rejoicing of this unique talent.
