Beyond the Stage Productions presents RENT, the Pulitzer and Tony-winning rock musical by Jonathan Larson, based on Puccini’s opera, La Boheme. This dynamic, youthful musical tells the story of a group of impoverished artists and musicians living, loving and creating in New York’s Lower East Side. Follow the roller coaster ride of their lives as the characters struggle to survive under the shadow of AIDS and poverty in the golden days of New York’s bohemian Alphabet City. The timeless and romantic story comes to vivid life through the modern rock score, including such favorites as “La Vie Boheme,” “What You Own,” and “Seasons of Love.” This show is being produced as a benefit for the Los Angeles HIV/AIDS charity The Stigma Project, which seeks to eliminate the stigma of HIV/AIDS on a global scale, through awareness, art and education.
