Six01 Studio brings Philip Ridley’s explosive and aptly named Tender Napalm to its stage. The only two characters in this fierce and moving play are Man and Woman — lovers who constantly and savagely fight for the upper hand in their relationship in the face of some unnamed devastation. Never leaving their insular world, the young couple lives out the play in a series of wild fantasies, transcending time and space in a violent and sexually charged tapestry of what was, and what is to be. As they interact, they use not only their words but also immense physicality as weapons against each other. To maintain the intense intimacy of the piece, each performance is presented before an audience of no more than 40 people. Edward Edwards directs.
