Compagnie Etant Donné is known throughout their French homeland for their innovative modern dances that explore the everyday world through conceptual movement. In TU (or “you” in English), identical hooded figures glide through a ghostly environment along the same path, only to discover some striking differences in their surroundings. Established in 1997 and based in Rouen, the ensemble’s pieces take their inspiration from a wide variety of artistic and other influences, and incorporate elements ranging from the absurd to the poetic.
