The Broad Stage at the Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center (Santa Monica, CA)

Each year, one of the most popular events of the summer season at the Music Academy of the West is the Marilyn Horne Song Competition, a showcase for Academy singers and vocal pianists. The Broad Stage welcomes first-prize winners Soprano Tracy Cox and pianist Maureen Zoltek to showcase the talent that put them on top. National Medal of Arts winner and mezzo-soprano Marilyn Horne created the competition to “breathe new life into the vocal recital as an art form in the U.S.” This annual concert takes vital steps to realize her mission. These future stars will blow you away with their special gifts for connecting with an audience and performing songs from the great repertoire.
