Kind of Blue: Jimmy Cobb’s So What Band Plays Miles Davis
Valley Performing Arts Center – Great Hall (Northridge, CA)
Jazz drummer Jimmy Cobb is the only surviving member of the group that recorded Miles Davis’ 1959 masterpiece, Kind of Blue. Jimmy brings his all-star So What Band to the stage to play those unforgettable songs that set the jazz world on fire. The band will play straight-ahead interpretations like “So What,” “Freddie Freeloader” and an assortment of other Davis, Coltrane and Adderley staples. It’s a performance that is as fresh as the music was over 50 years ago.
