Long Beach Symphony Orchestra Classics: Ravel, Brahms, Mackey

Long Beach Performing Arts Center, Terrace Theater (Long Beach, CA)

The Long Beach Symphony Orchestra will present works by two legends and a world premiere in this exciting performance at Long Beach Performing Arts Center’s Terrace Theater. Under the baton of Maestro Enrique Arturo Diemecke and with award-winning pianist Alessio Bax, the LBSO will thrill with Ravel’s jazz-influenced Piano Concerto in G Major, which debuted in 1932, and Brahms’ Symphony No. 2, with its cheery, seaside-influenced melodies. Kicking off the concert will be the world premiere of composer Steven Mackey’s Urban Ocean, commissioned by Suzanne and Dennis Poulsen for the Aquarium of the Pacific.
