Al Kent (BBE Records / Million Dollar Disco), the King of Rare Disco is coming to Toronto’s BLK BOX this Saturday April 6th. He will be supported by Toronto’s A Digital Needle and Cyclist whose Beam Me Up have been reviving the cities Classic Disco scene. His releases on the pinnacle of underground dance music label BBE have left Detroit Techno legend Theo Parrish speechless and his sets have been known to make Chicago Disco stalwart Rahaan cry tears of joy. When hes not dee-jaying or mixing music, Al’s busy throwing his life savings into recording and producing a critically acclaimed, fully orchestrated 20+ piece Disco band using vintage analog equipment to produce a set that Salsoul would weep at. ADN and Cyclist both firmly believe Al is one of the best dee-jays in the world, as their parties are already filled with his edits and choice disco mixes, but they aren’t the only ones – he’s a favourite and regular personal guest dee-jay of Dimitri from Paris, Joey Negro, Kon & Amir, Ministry of Sound and England’s Southport Weekender’s main room – a 2,000 person hall mainly reserved for soulful house DJ’s. This is a disco jam not to miss!
