MOdROCK: Mods vs. Rockers in Swinging ’60s Musical
El Portal Theatre (North Hollywood, CA)
Set in London in the mid-1960s, MOdROCK tells the story of a historic culture clash, fueled by competing musical styles and fashion trends. On one side, rockers drew inspiration from Elvis and United States motorcycle culture. The mods took their cues from the latest fashion trends and favored British bands like the The Who and The Kinks. Using this vibrant time period as a backdrop, the new musical tells the story of young love lost and rediscovered through the music of the era. The brilliant choreography features modern interpretations of ’60s dance styles set to the music of The Animals, Dusty Springfield, the Yardbirds, The Hollies, Petula Clark, Gerry and the Pacemakers, The Zombies, Herman Hermits and more.
