This past winter Oculus Arts put out a call for submissions to all mobile device photographers to join in with Oculus Arts first publication. Casting the news as wide as we could we invited everyone with a mobile device* to offer one of their photography files to be put into print. To accompany their images we asked for peoples consideration about the topic Enlightenment: Past, Present or Future. From the images submitted a jury** has chosen twelve outstanding photographs for our Spring exhibition to accompany the book ‘Print Oculus: Mobile Device Photography’. Throughout the exhibition we will be discussing how mobile devices are evolving the art of photography and the careers of photographers. Oculus Arts at QSQ 23 May: BOOK LAUNCH & PRINT SALE 6-9PM. Our first publication will be on sale along with a printing service for those who would like to purchase any of the images and can walk away with their print or prints that evening. Oculus Arts at QSQ 25 May: ARTIST’S TALK 1PM. Discussing how mobile device photography is evolving the careers of photographers and the technicalities of creating a file with your mobile device for a quality print.
