Torch-song specialist Laura Ellis turns up the heat in this concert packed with current and past jazz favorites, ably backed by pianist John Rodby and the Jazz Noir Band. Ellis is a true throwback artist, who’ll perform rarely-heard gems, along with swing, ballads and more. Discovered and mentored by Alan Paul of The Manhattan Transfer, Ellis starred in the multimedia show Femme Fatale: Music, Movies and Mayhem, personifying the dangerously seductive women of the film-noir era with songs like “Temptation” and “Put the Blame on Mame.”
