The story centers on widower and single father Sam, who finds himself the center of attention after his son calls in to a talk radio show looking for a new mom. The host gets Sam on the phone and he ends up lamenting his lost love over the airwaves, capturing the hearts of the listeners. Thousands of miles away, Annie hears the program and falls for Sam, despite never having met him and being engaged to someone else. As Sam is bombarded with messages from smitten women, Annie makes her way across the country to try to meet the man who touched her heart.
