Audiences have been stunned speechless by Lemon Boots, the nearly wordless, highly imaginative show now appearing at the Open Fist Theatre as a part of the Hollywood Fringe Festival. Created and directed by Ezra LeBank, the influential dramatist and Head of Movement at CSULB, Lemon Boots follows a girl named Lemon on a journey to rediscover herself and her place in a post-apocalyptic world where water is scarce and government surveillance is everywhere. Incorporating dance, clown, mime, acrobatics and shadow-play, this hour-long performance is as physical as “physical theater” can get, using body movement to tell every part of this varied and utterly engrossing story.
