Los Angeles County Museum of Art – Bing Theater (Los Angeles, CA)

The New York Times described International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) as “one of the most accomplished and adventurous groups in new music.” The 33 leading instrumentalists who make up ICE are dedicated to reshaping the way we experience music. Going hand in hand with two of LACMA’s current exhibits, Stanley Kubrick and Hans Richter: Encounters, ICE will perform music to accompany clips from works by these two film icons and John Cage, György Ligeti and others. For the finale, ICE will play live along with its film adaption of Eight Songs for a Mad King, a monodrama by English composer Peter Maxwell Davies, who is currently Master of the Queen’s Music.
