Outfest 2013: Sexy Indie Comedy Test Screened at Ford Amphitheatre

Chris Mason Johnson’s film Test takes us back to San Francisco in the mid-1980s. Frankie is wants to fit in with the more seasoned members of his modern dance company, but it’s hard to focus on that when he’s preoccupied with something bigger: the new HIV test. Many in the gay community have raised fears that the test might be used to quarantine gay people. As Frankie is working up the nerve to take the test himself, he gets news that forces him into action. Beautifully shot with sensitive performances and breathtaking dance sequences, this sexy and humorous film is reminiscent of Bill Sherwood’s groundbreaking Parting Glances.
