Attend a garden party celebrating the 21st birthday of Lady Windermere herself, and get swept up into the story as Chalk Theatre creates a unique production of Oscar Wilde’s biting satire, skewering Victorian morality. You’ll follow the action along as it moves across the grounds of UCLA’s William Andrews Clark Memorial Library, which very fittingly houses one of the premier collections of Oscar Wilde materials in the world. Lady Windermere’s Fan was Wilde’s first great stage success, and finds the title heroine investigating a rumor of her husband’s infidelity while fending off suitors and trying to avoid the scourge of gossip. You’re also welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy on the grounds before the show.
