Pitch Perfect made some joyful noise when it was released in 2012, with its noteworthy combo of sharp comedy and pop music, and now, Outfest offers up a truly harmonious and hilarious event with this outdoor screening and sing-along at the Ford. Set around a college a cappella competition, the story centers on Beca (Anna Kendrick), a talented freshman who reluctantly joins the once-powerhouse Barden Bellas with a ragtag group of new recruits, including Fat Amy (Rebel Wilson). But Beca’s got to convince them to juice up their outdated song list to have a shot at defeating their rival guy group in the Nationals. Pitch Perfect also boasts the best-selling soundtrack of 2013, featuring Kendrick’s hit rendition of “Cups.”
