Local Shorts by L.A. Directors, Plus In-Person Discussion With Filmmakers
Egyptian Theatre (Hollywood, CA)
Local Shorts showcases films, ranging from three to 32 minutes, by Los Angeles-based directors. The 85-minute program of shorts includes comedy, drama, animation and documentary and ends with a discussion with the filmmakers. Jonah Ansell’s animated tale Cadaver features the voices of Kathy Bates and Christopher Lloyd. Mark Columbus explores a son’s relationship with his Fijian, jazz guitarist father in Battle of the Jazz Guitarist. A man is forced to face his darkest demons in an abandoned motel when he discovers a television that can see 15 seconds into the future in Braden Duemmler’s Mimic.
