Armstrong Theatre at Torrance Cultural Arts Center (Torrance, CA)

The Aerospace Players present Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Tony Award-winning musical The King and I, performed with a live orchestra. Featuring such unforgettable songs as “Getting to Know You,” “I Whistle a Happy Tune,” “Hello, Young Lovers,” “Shall We Dance” and more, this unique love story is set in 19th-century Siam. Anna, a British widow, is hired to tutor the King’s many children. Although their very different backgrounds initially result in conflict, the sparks set off by their culture clash ignite a romance and lead to greater understanding and respect between the two.
